This course is an entry-level course. This is a mandatory one-day class-based course covering all main areas of water jetting operations and safety, including types of water jetting, water pressure and flow rates, risk assessment, and the use of safety clothing.
The Safety Awareness course on its own in non-operational. To become operational, you are required to sit one of the WJA module courses.

Course Overview
Course Structure
There is a maximum number of 12 candidates allowed on this course. If additional candidates arrive for training above the maximum number; they will be turned away.
Delegates must confirm to the instructor that the equipment they are supplying for the practical is suitable for the relevant module and the pressures being used. If not suitable, the instructor has the right to cancel the practical element and will have to return on an alternative date.
Prerequisites
- Basic understanding of English.
- The minimum age for a WJA candidate is 16 if in employment or on a structured training program or 18 if unemployed / or not on a structured training program.
Course Content
The course is based entirely on the Water Jetting Associations "Code of Practice for the use of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment". It is a practical course containing hands on training with equipment together with training centre-based assessment.
The course is designed to give candidates knowledge of a safe way in which to use the equipment. It gives information on safe entry into confined spaces but makes no attempt to provide full instruction on the safety procedures involved. It is anticipated that candidates would have already been trained in the procedures if their future duties require them to enter confined spaces safely.
Target Audience
Any person who is inexperienced or new to the industry who will be required to undertake high pressure water jetting for drain/sewer cleaning. Experienced operators who have not had previous training and who require to improve their knowledge and skills. Experienced operators who require re-training (Refresher) due to changes in equipment specification or legislation.
Certification
A WJA certificate will be issued upon successful completion
Revalidation
The course must be revalidated every 3 years.

Health Prerequisites
Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.

Candidates must be well rested prior to attending the training and if not, the instructor has the right to exclude anyone from the training who appears overly tired or unwell.
