Course Overview

This practical course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to conduct effective task-based risk assessments in line with UK health and safety regulations. Emphasising real-world application, it explores legislative frameworks, risk identification, evaluation methodologies, and the implementation of appropriate control measures. Learners will also understand their roles and responsibilities within the Task Risk Assessment (TRA) process and how to contribute effectively as part of a risk assessment team.

Prerequisites

No prerequisites are required for this training course.

Course Content

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:
▪ Understand the legal requirements for risk assessments under Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (1999).
▪ Define key concepts such as hazard, risk, ALARP, and residual risk.
▪ Participate in and contribute to the TRA process.
▪ Identify hazards, evaluate associated risks, and implement effective control measures.
▪ Review and revise risk assessments to maintain regulatory compliance.
▪ Apply the principles of suitable and sufficient risk assessment to real-world tasks.

Anyone who is required to conduct risk assessments, staff, supervisors or team leads.

Certification

A 3t Training Services certificate will be issued upon successful completion

Revalidation

The course must be revalidated every 2 years.
