Course Overview

This course will allow delegates to develop a general awareness of what a permit to work (PTW) system is, how it works and how to comply with it. The course is a mix of theoretical and practical sessions, during which delegates will be required to demonstrate their level of knowledge and understanding of the training programme content

Prerequisites

Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement

Course Content

By the end of this training programme delegates will;
- Be aware of the relevant regulations.
- Be familiar with the requirements imposed by the regulations and how they affect them and their organisation.
- Be able to interpret information from a permit and understand their duties under the PTW system.
- Be aware of what is classed as hazardous work and why a PTW system is used.
- Be able to identify the different types of permits and additional certificates.
- Be able to use a sample PTW system and complete relevant documentation.

Revalidation

The course must be revalidated every 2 years.
