Course Overview

The OPITO Emergency Coordinator for Renewable Energy (Wind) Competence Assessment tests competency of an Emergency Coordinator against OPITO standards. Learners will take part in a minimum of 3 maximum of 4 realistic emergency scenarios in a purpose-built simulator.

Prerequisites

A formal declaration from the learner’s employer confirming that the learner has achieved the performance criteria in Unit 1, Outcome 1 in the workplace and that the learner has been deemed ready for formal assessment against Outcome 2 to 5 (a link to the Outcome 1 declaration document will be included within the joining instructions).

Course Content

- Formative exercises are held prior to formal assessment to allow the learner to become familiar with the process and the simulator.
- Complete a minimum of three, maximum of four emergency response scenarios which cover:
- threat to life
- threat to environment
- threat to plant and equipment.
- Demonstrate competency against the OPITO Emergency Coordinator for Renewable Energy (Wind) Standard.

Target Audience

Personnel who have been deemed ready by their employer to be formally assessed in the role of an Emergency Coordinator during an emergency situation. They must have completed all relevant company specific training and should be employed within the renewable industry.

Certification

An OPITO certificate and assessment report will be issued on successful course completion.

Revalidation

The course must be revalidated every 3 years.

Health Prerequisites
