GWO First Aid Refresher is designed to refresh delegates with the practical skills and knowledge previously acquired from attending an initial GWO First Aid course.
The course ensures delegates maintain the ability to administer prompt, safe and effective first aid in the wind industry, and in a wind turbine environment, in accordance with GWO training standards.
The training includes combination of theoretical and practical exercises.

Course Overview
Prerequisites
A valid and in-date GWO First Aid or a GWO First Aid Refresher certificate.
Course Content
Delegates completing a GWO First Aid Refresher training course will be able to:
- Gain an understanding of the psychological effects of first aid for a first aider
- Understand sudden sickness and environmental factors (e.g. chemical, air quality, dust, pollen, gases, poisonous animal bites etc.)
- Understand types of trauma
- Gain an understanding of incident management and situational awareness
- Manage and administer first aid during complex incidents with several (2-5) casualties
Target Audience
Personnel required to renew a GWO First Aid certificate.
Certification
A GWO certificate will be issued upon successful completion.
Revalidation
The course must be revalidated every 2 years.

Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport.
Health Prerequisites
Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.
