Course Content
The SHEA Gas scheme consists of nine modules, designed to provide comprehensive health, safety, and environmental awareness training for individuals working in the gas industry. Here’s a breakdown of the content:
Core Modules (1-6)
1. Understanding Workplace Responsibilities: Covers legal frameworks, definitions, and responsibilities for both employees and employers.
2. Environmental Impact: Focuses on key environmental considerations and their impact on sustainability.
3. Risk Identification and Control: Helps identify and control risks and hazards, promoting proactive health and safety behaviours.
4. Common Workplace Hazards: Identifies common physical hazards and how to minimize their impact.
5. Occupational Health Hazards: Explains occupational health hazards and how to mitigate them.
6. Emergency Response: Develops understanding of emergency response behaviors and the role of reporting and inspection.
Gas Industry-Specific Modules (14-16)
14. Highway Working and Excavations: Covers processes and procedures for working in highways, creating safe working environments, and emergency protocols.
15. Pressure Regulating Installations: Explains the journey of gas from beach to meter and associated risks.
16. Safety in Premises: Focuses on working safely in domestic and commercial premises and effective communication with customers
Target Audience
The scheme is designed for individuals who require access to operational sites within the gas industry, including operatives, supervisors, and management
Certification
The EUSR SHEA Gas registration is valid for five years. After this period, individuals must retake the training and assessment to renew their registration
Revalidation
The course must be revalidated every 5 years.

Health Prerequisites
Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
