Course Overview

A 1-day course covering identifying and safely using a range of hand and power tools to carry out engineering tasks.
Learners are introduced to the risks associated with working with hand and power tools and the importance of pre and post use checks when working with tools.

Course Structure

An ECITB Working Safely with Hand and Power Tools training course covers;
- Raise awareness of working with hand and power tools
- Legislative requirements for working with tools
- Identify and understand the hazards and risks which may be encountered whilst using tools
- Safe use of tools Storage of tools and equipment
- Understand the importance of pre & post use checks

Prerequisites

Course Content

Target Audience

This course is aimed at any person who will be required to use any type of abrasive wheels equipment at work

Certification

Learners will be awarded an ECITB approved certificate which is valid for 3 years once they successfully pass the knowledge assessment and practical assessment.

Revalidation

The course must be revalidated every 3 years.

Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport, Safety Boots

Health Prerequisites

Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
