A 1-day course that covers:
- Relevant health and safety factors
- Safe handling practices
- The types of abrasive wheels and their operating equipment
- Safe operation and handling of angle grinders and bench/ pedestal grinders during engineering activities.
It includes an assessment and 5 practical exercises covering fitting, checking and using cutting and grinding discs on a hand-held grinder; properly removing & replacing a bench mounted grinder stone; adjusting the tool rest, dressing the stone and performing a grinding activity.

Prerequisites
Course Content
Target Audience
This course is aimed at any person who will be required to use any type of abrasive wheels equipment at work
Certification
Learners will be awarded an ECITB approved certificate which is valid for 3 years once they successfully pass the knowledge assessment and practical assessment.
Revalidation
The course must be revalidated every 3 years.

Health Prerequisites
Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
