A CISRS Operative Training Scheme (COTS) course can be considered as the starting point for a scaffolding career.
The training gives delegates an appreciation of general site safety, types of materials and safe methods of manual handling used in scaffolding.
A CISRS COTS includes both classroom and practical training in the one day course.

Prerequisites
- A CITB HS&E (Health, Safety & Environment) test within 2 years or hold an accepted exemption
Course Content
By the end of this training, delegates will be able to;
- Understand scaffold labouring duties
- Progress into a trainee scaffolder

Anyone looking to become a scaffolder.
Certification
A CISRS certificate will be awarded on successful completion.
Revalidation
The course must be revalidated every 5 years.
