Course Overview

Advanced Hub Rescue (AHR) focuses on the specialist skills and knowledge required to rescue wind industry personnel from various areas of a wind turbine including the hub. Delegates will learn to work in a safe, effective and prompt manner to stabilise a casualty.

The course material and practical training references the most common types of wind turbine generator (WTG) found in the UK and surrounding areas.

The equipment used during the training course carries a weight limit of 136-140kg. For participants this maximum weight includes clothes and safety equipment, we therefore recommend a maximum bodyweight of 120kg. Our equipment also has a maximum waist size of 120cm.

Prerequisites

- A valid and in-date GWO Working at Height certificate

Course Content

Delegates completing this training course will be able to;
- Understand current national legislation
- Identify the hazards and risks associated with working at height
- Demonstrate user inspections of PFPE
- Remaining calm and keeping oneself safe at all times
- Instigate emergency procedures
- Demonstrate the rescue of a casualty from a restricted environment using a raft of specialised equipment covering a variety of manufactures
- Casualty handling and management

Target Audience

Wind Turbine Technicians and Emergency Response Team Members.

Certification

A 3t Training Services certificate will be issued upon successful completion.

Revalidation

The course must be revalidated every 2 years.

Health Prerequisites

Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.
