This week, we’re celebrating an incredible milestone: 35 years of dedication, innovation, and leadership from Clive Battisby, our Senior Vice President of 3t Technologies.
Clive began his journey with the business in 1990 as a Software Programmer, developing early simulation technologies that helped shape the future of training in the energy sector. His talent for problem-solving and passion for innovation quickly saw him rise through the ranks, progressing to Lead Developer, then Technical Manager, and later Head of Product Development, where he played a pivotal role in launching some of our most iconic simulator products.
In the 2000s, Clive took on broader leadership responsibilities, becoming Operations Director and then Chief Operating Officer of 3t Drilling Systems. In these roles, he helped expand our global footprint, led major client partnerships, and oversaw the evolution of our technology portfolio to meet the changing needs of the industry.
Today, as SVP of 3t Technologies, Clive continues to drive our innovation strategy, bringing together 3t Drilling Systems and 3t Digital into a single centre of excellence. His deep industry knowledge, customer-first mindset, and unwavering commitment to progress have helped position 3t as a global leader in training technology.
Beyond 3t, Clive is deeply engaged in the global well control and drilling learning space. He contributes regularly to IADC and SPE conferences, serves on the IADC Well Control Committee, and plays an active role in shaping international standards for training and certification as a board member of the International Well Control Forum (IWCF), representing the UK branch.
Clive’s philosophy, to “embrace innovation and technology, listen to the needs of customers, and move with the times,” has guided not only our products but our people. He’s a mentor, a visionary, and a true ambassador for the 3t culture.
