In 2024 3t secured a major contract with Oil India Limited to provide advanced drilling simulator technology to aid and enhance its workforce training. Oil India’s vision is to become a leading and future ready integrated energy company committed to sustainable energy security for India through performance excellence.
During a recent visit, Clive Battisby, Senior Vice President of 3t Technologies, oversaw the final stages of the simulator installation and commissioning. His presence underscored the strategic importance of this partnership, which is set to elevate rig crew competency and operational excellence across Oil India’s drilling operations.

Technology that builds confidence
Our simulators are now central to their training programme:
- DrillSIM:5000 Classic – delivering immersive, hands-on training for traditional rig operations.
- DrillSIM:5000 CyberCHAIR – enabling supervisory-level simulation and decision-making practice.
- MultiSIM for Well Intervention – offering versatile training across a range of intervention scenarios covering Coiled Tubing, Slick line and Snubbing operations.
Oil India teams are now equipped to train in well control, well intervention, and general rig operations, including drilling, tripping, supervision, and performance. These simulators are not just tools; they are catalysts for change. By replicating real-world rig environments, they allow crews to train safely, build confidence and master complex procedures before stepping onto a live rig.

To support this training, Oil India has also recently completed the IWCF Assessor Course for Levels 3 and 4 Well Control Certification, demonstrating its commitment to global standards in safety and performance.
“It was great to visit the Oil India team. What I saw shows me that we are not just delivering simulators, we are helping transform how rig crews train, think and perform. We are proud to support Oil India in their mission to raise the bar for rig crew training. This is a powerful example of how technology and collaboration can drive meaningful change in the energy sector.”
